EARTH DAY EXPO HAS HEALTHY INTEREST IN WELLNESS
Many Presentations and Exhibits to Address Health Issues
Rochester,
MI –
The 3rd annual Earth Day Expo will be held at Oakland University
on Saturday, April 19th. It will attract thousands of health conscious
consumers interested in learning about healthy & earth-friendly living. The
expo is subtitled "Healthy People, Healthy Planet" and is focused on making
the connection between healthy products, people and planet.
The expo will be preceded by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's
Hike For Discovery from 10am to 11am. The hike will begin and end at the
front (west) entrance of the Oakland Center and benefits and honors blood
cancer patients.
Many health-related product
and service will be offered including organic food
and farm products, supplements, bikes, exercise equipment, yoga, kid's play
services, parks & trails, organic restaurants, vegetarian education, herbal teas, chiropractic, complementary
medicine, natural therapies, meditation instruction, life
coaching, holistic dentistry, non-toxic home & personal care products, and
much more.
Several health related
presentations will be offered throughout the day including: Diet
and the Environment with Paul Krause of VegMichigan; Family Ecology
with Rich Chakrin, MA; Making Local Eating a Reality with Julie Fiorani
LaPorte, owner of "La Vida Local; Organic and Natural Living with Heather
Carmona, Organic Wellness Consultant; Reversing Heart Disease without Drugs
or Surgery, with OU's Dr. Robert Jarski; The “Locavore” Challenge with Dr.
Fay Hansen, a biologist at OU; Utilizing Meditation in Your Life!
with Amanda Butler, author of Conscious Choice - BodyMindSpirit Guide; and Weight Loss WOW! with Dr. Kerrie Saunders,
nationally known presenter, consultant
& best-selling author.
Delicious, healthy natural and
organic food, snacks and drinks will be available all day, served in
biodegradable serving-ware and utensils.
Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center is a
501(c)(3) organization. It is a designated Michigan Energy Demonstration
Center and model of eco-friendly design and renewable energy applications,
located in northern Oakland County. It provides resources that promote a
